The Golfito Wildlife Refuge is a protected area located in the southern Pacific coast of Costa Rica, in the Golfo Dulce. The refuge has a diverse array of flora and fauna, including endangered species such as the jaguar and the scarlet macaw.
The entrance fee to the refuge is 10 USD for foreigners and 2,000 CRC for Costa Rican residents. The refuge is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Unfortunately, I could not find an official website for the refuge.
There are several activities to do in the surrounding area, such as visiting the Piedras Blancas National Park, taking a boat tour to see dolphins and whales, or visiting the nearby town of Golfito. The Piedras Blancas National Park offers hiking trails and camping opportunities. The boat tours depart from Golfito and offer the chance to see dolphins, whales, and sea turtles in their natural habitat. Golfito is a small town with a rich history of banana plantations and a vibrant culture.
It is recommended to check the specific schedules and prices for each activity or attraction before planning your visit.
